albus

Carol  ·  Feb. 19, 2008

when i saw the vet yesterday, we formulated a plan for albus. we would give the antibiotics a couple of more days and if still not much improvement, we would let him go. my concern was the level of fear albus had while at the vet so we decided i would pre-sedate him before i brought him in.

best laid plans...albus died this morning.

i should have known we were fighting a losing battle, there is no way to win against this freaking disease.

rest in peace sweetheart, misfit won't miss you, but i will.

Thanks for taking in the Ameri-cats in the first place. I was one of Albus's caretakers with Best Friends. Albus believed that lap possession was 9/10ths of the law. He would lean in on me and dig in his claws. He also liked to drink directly out of the sink tab. I will miss my little cat buddy very much.

It is never easy saying good bye to those you have rescued and expect to have some quality time however limited. Even though we feel like part of our soul and being has passed on with them we have to continue and stay focued on those that we are caring for and those that will come to us needing our love and physical help. To me if you are truly dedicated and truly love rescue work each and every creature will leave a lasting imprint on your being. To me when they pass I feel as if part of me goes with them on their journey and that someday we will be together again.

I'm sorry to hear of another Americat passing, I know how much they mean to you. Thanks Hillevi for your kind words-at least they had a beatiful and comfy home and lots of food and love.

My dear Albus (Alvin). Rest in peace. Carol, I am so sorry for your loss. I know that Albus was grateful for the home you provided him. Because of you he knew love, warmth, and a full belly. I am sure that he thought he was in heaven when he came to SAINTS. Thank you so very much for everything you have done for the Americats - and for everyone else.

I bet Albus is at the Rainbow Bridge telling all of the other Pahrump kitties how wonderful you are - and now Aladdin has a companion on the Bridge.

I will pray for you and him.
