for the very first time. it wasn't much, and it was in the confines and safety of his crate...but he rolled, and rubbed and he boxed, bit, and goofed with my good naturedly annoying hand and he won every single encounter. he is strong, he is brave, he is fun and very, very funny.
and i was even smart enough to quit while he was way ahead.
