highlites of the vet visit…

the cardiac dogs are all three doing ok..altho colleen can’t believe after listening to his heart that felix is still actually alive. it is that will to live man…never discount the littlest or frailest guys!

the masses on lucas are ok…but his pain control is not ideal so he is getting an increase but the vet feels that we won’t control his pain for long. myles, champ and lucas are going to trial cartophen injections and see how they do with the addition of those to their pain med regimes.

doris and archie are going to try a different medication and shampoo for their skin issues. and archie is going to try twice daily soaks to soften the scabbing but if that doesn’t work, we will take him into the clinic to sedate and shave him down…he is 17 so this is a risk we would like to avoid.

cole, maude, and jewel will stay with their current pain medications…jesse we are going to trial a reduction on and al and tyra are ok with no pain meds for now.

monty is going to start on metacam for his mouth pain and if that doesn’t work we will move to steriod injections but because he is FIV we would rather avoid steriods if possible. and bitsy while feeling better on the prednisolone for her mouth pain..is still quite inflamed so she will start steriod injections because she is much too old for full dental extraction surgery.

murphy meaks is doing ok tonight..i think he is a bit sad and confused and would like to go home but he seems calm and unafraid….just a little unsure of why he is here…. he really is a sweet little guy, i think he will be absolutely fine in a couple of days.

the bloodwork on jesse, jerry, myles, lucas, will be back in a day or two.

    Sounds kinda appropriate…
(Wikipedia): ” In Greek mythology, Zeus (pronounced /?zju?s/) is the King of the Gods, the ruler of Mount Olympus and the god of the sky and thunder. His symbols are the thunderbolt, eagle, bull, and oak. In addition to his Indo-European inheritance, the classical “cloud-gatherer” also derives certain iconographic traits from the cultures of the Ancient Near East, such as the scepter. Zeus is frequently depicted by Greek artists in one of two poses: standing, striding forward, with a thunderbolt leveled in his raised right hand, or seated in majesty.

Zeus was the child of Cronus and Rhea, and the youngest of his siblings. In most traditions he was married to Hera, although, at the oracle of Dodona, his consort was Dione: according to the Iliad, he is the father of Aphrodite by Dione. He is known for his erotic escapades. These resulted in many godly and heroic offspring, including Athena, Apollo and Artemis, Hermes, Persephone (by Demeter), Dionysus, Perseus, Heracles, Helen, Minos, and the Muses (by Mnemosyne); by Hera, he is usually said to have fathered Ares, Hebe and Hephaestus.[2]

    Best wishes, Big Guy.
