miles passed away early this evening

Carol  ·  Mar. 18, 2010

he has been failing recently. dawn took him to the vets and the xrays showed a large tumour pressing up against his heart. the vets sent him home with some meds to try. dawn brought him here for me to see...it was his time.

miles came out of the pound a few months ago, he was a stray and his dead end tattoo said he was 14 yrs old. no one ever came there to claim him. here was a dog whose 14 years of life were not even worth looking for...here was a dog with no where to go to be loved and cared for while his life ended.

miles was one of the few lucky ones, he did find a home to be loved in at the end.
rest in peace miles, you were a very good dog, we were all lucky to know you.

(nicole can you post a picture of him please, he is not on the foster page for me to take from there.)

Kim

At least he had light at the end of the tunnel. It was kind of you to give him a home, Dawn.

Dawn

Thank you all for your kind words, he was a good man. He deserved better than the cards that life had dealt him. I hope I made up for some the cruelty that humans can inflict on the innocent. I know he didn't die cold hungry or alone and that in itself means alot.

Myles...such a sweet boy. Thanks Dawn for giving him a home and a family that loved him...that picture with him and his brothers says it all.

Rae

I'm so sorry, a few months or a few years they still take a piece of your heart with them when they leave. Thank you all for not letting him spend the last part of his journey in the Shelter. RIP Miles, you will be missed.

Jenn

You gave him the best home and the most love any dog could want Dawn. Bye Myles you were a good boy through and through, its ok to rest now.

What a beautiful, lucky boy to have had you Dawn and Carole. His story is exactly why Saints exists. He passed away a very loved dog.
