Dear sweet 9 year old Angel was an owner surrender. Totally blind, recently diagnosed and then unregulated diabetic rat terrier whose family is in conflict over the cost of vet care. Her caregiver was guessing on how much insulin to give depending on how much she pees because her partner won’t let her spend any more money to do proper insulin curves and believes the dog should just be put down because now she is costing money to keep. So she came to live at SAINTS.
When first came to SAINTS she hated it, she wanted to go home, back to her people. She didn't understand why she had to come and live at SAINTS with all these other dogs. She cried off and on and scratched at the door for the first few nights. All that stress through her into a bit of a diabetic nightmare, but with some vet care all was sorted out and Angel has come to actually enjoy life at SAINTS as a well managed diabetic.
After Angel had been at SAINTS for 6 weeks, her former best bud, Butch, was also surrendered and came to live at SAINTS. Butch was a sweet little Boston Terrier with a large tumor on the side of his face. Butch was only able to stay at saints for 12 short days before he passed away. |
