The Amazing Raise Is Back

Posted: April 17, 2018 at 12:41 pm

In 2017 SAINTS’ vet bills totaled just over $205,000. Most of the residents arrive at SAINTS with huge vet bills. A large percentage continue to require medical attention long after they have arrived. We are therefore always looking for innovative and creative ways to ensure money continues to flow in so that we can care for the SAINTS. The Amazing Raise, one of our more popular fundraisers, is back for its 7th year.

The Amazing Raise always puts fun into fundraising. The SAINTS’ are divided into 4 teams based on that part of SAINTS they consider home. There is the House, the MP Room, and the Barn. This year a fourth team has been added, Team Bunny Room. We thought they deserved there own team since they now have their very own separate building. Each group is on a race to raise the most amount of money for their respective areas; it’s all very exciting and for such a great cause! Each group has a team captain. This year we have chosen to have money raised to go directly to our vet bills and therefore the team captains were all chosen to highlight the various medical issues SAINTS deals with on a daily basis. And also because they are CUTE!

We invite the public to join in the fun by giving a donation to your favorite area of SAINTS.

Minnie, Raven, Zoe, and LILO thank you and also they would like to win this race so they each hope everyone donates to their team. Here is the link  The Amazing Raise to our petfundr page.

We’re Dreaming of a SAINTS Christmas

Posted: December 17, 2017 at 6:08 pm

We’re dreaming of a SAINTS Christmas
Just like the ones we’ve had before.
Where the barnyard glisten and the sheep listen
For Santa arriving here once more.

We’re dreaming of a SAINTS Christmas
With every card that’s sent our way.
Hear the dogs woof greetings , the cats purr while sleeping
And all the horses gently neigh.

We’re dreaming of a SAINTS Christmas
Just like the ones we used to know.
Where there’s treats plenty
No dish is empty and no-one has o shovel snow!

We’re dreaming of a SAINTS Christmas
As we bid goodbye to twenty seventeen.
May our pipes no freeze up or our people seize up
And may all our Christmases be green.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone
From all of us here in SAINTS dreamland

All We Want For Christmas Is a Tractor

Posted: November 25, 2017 at 12:14 pm

The weatherman is predicting snow again this year. A tractor/plow would help us immensely if that snow shows up. And we can use it throughout the year. We will take a used one.

Bratwurst is asking for help

Posted: November 6, 2017 at 3:15 pm

Bratwurst came to SAINTS March 2017 because he suddenly was paralyzed and his young owner did not have the $6,000 – $8,000 funds required for spinal surgery. Fast forward to November 2017 and Bratwurst body has been through a lot of trauma. He has now had 3 surgeries – his last being at the beginning of October. Bratwurst has now blown 3 discs! In his last surgery the neurologist fixed the new blown disc and the 3 discs below as a preventative measure. We are hoping 3 times is the charm as we do not want Bratwurst’s life to be filled with one surgery after another. After the first two surgeries Bratwurst worked hard at water therapy and physical therapy and learned how to walk. This time he is not recovering as quickly. He seems to have some control over his bladder, and he can wag his tail but that is it. We are still hopeful.

Bratwurst can now be called the $20,000 daxi. His surgery has come at a time when we have $30,000 outstanding vet bills to pay off so we have asked Bratwurst to reach out to the public and see if he can get people to help pay off his vet bill of $7,000. Matt Kerr and his team Team Kerr have generously offered to match every dollar donated (up to $2500) to help us reach our goal.

Bratwurst has only one word HELP!

SAINTS AGM October 22, 2017

Posted: October 2, 2017 at 3:18 pm

In accordance with SAINTS bylaws Part 3 (Meeting of Members) Section 13
We will be holding our AGM
Date: October 22nd, 2017
Time: 12 PM – 2 PM
Location: SAINTS Shelter 33860 Dlugosh Avenue Mission, BC

Everyone is welcome, members and non members. It may seem dry and done only to fulfill a necessary government requirement but it also can be very informative. In the last few years we have given a lot of information about our organization. Our statistics on animals (how many were adopted, fostered, passed away, came in), financials for the year, and any significant growth and successes we have had. We love to share this info with people so please consider coming.

Thanks
SAINTS Board of Directors
