SUMMIT: PHOTOGRAPHY AUCTION FOR SAINTS
On February 5th, 2010, East Van Studios will house Summit, a one-night, multi-artist photography auction that will benefit SAINTS.
Established in Mission, B.C. in 2004, SAINTS ( Senior Animals In Need Today Society) is an end-of-life shelter for senior, disabled, and terminally ill animals that have nowhere else to go. Since 2004, over 350 animals have come through SAINTS: cats, dogs, chickens, rabbits, horses, cows, pigs, donkeys, sheep, one parrot, and Karl the llama. SAINTS exists to help senior and special needs animals when all else fails. If we can, in time, find them a special home of their own, then we do. If that very special home never comes, they will be safe and cherished until the end of their days.
32 photographers, based in Vancouver and Montreal, will exhibit work in Summit. Colour vs. black and white, size, and subject matter are all determined by the artists. Each piece starts at a base bid of $75 or $100. The silent auction will run throughout the course of the evening. Cash or cheque will be accepted for the silent auction.
In addition to the silent auction we will be serving drinks, and selling tickets for a multi-business raffle draw.
Tickets are $10 at the door.

SAINTS Fox's Reach Pub Night

WHEN: 5-7pm
COST: $10.00 includes one drink (all money to SAINTS) and then if you would like a meal or appy you choose and buy one off the menu.
**WHAT: In addition to the usual pub fundraiser stuff (i.e. 50/50 draw, toonie toss, silent auction), Carol the founder of SAINTS may or may not shave all her hair off at 7pm. It all depends on whether or not she (and those who love her) can raise $2,000 from pledges to Save Her Hair. She really likes her hair, her daughter is getting married in July, and her first grand child will also arrive in July ... she doesn't want to be a scary bald grandma!!
