Cheyenne

German Shepherd Dog - Senior - Female
Adoptable Large Spayed/NeuteredUp-to-date with routine shotsPrefers No CatsSpecial Needs

Cheyenne is about 6 years old. She is a German Shepherd Dog, and as such she loves to have a purpose and displays eagerness to learn new activities. Cheyenne is a curious, obedient, quick learner, but she can become a bit over-protective so we are suggesting no small children in the home. Cheyenne is looking for a home where she can be part of the family, a very extraordinary family who can accommodate her special needs. Her dream home would consist of adults, with no other dogs (though for the most part she gets along with them just fine) and no cats (they are very interesting, maybe too interesting, but she has not be tested in close contact with one). Cheyenne has advanced degenerative myleopathy of the spine (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canine_degenerative_myelopathy), and hip dysplasia. Cheyenne cannot move her hind end. She cannot use her back legs or tail, she cannot control her bowel or bladder. Cheyenne is paraplegic. However, Cheyenne is a happy, active dog! She has a wheelchair that she loves to use for walks and playing fetch. This beauty is a highly intelligent girl, she loves to problem solve, loves to play games, loves to be busy, and aims to please every step of the way. She needs regular bathing to keep her clean, regular walks to keep her exercised. We know this is asking alot, but to earn the love of a very special GSD is payment in spades.
