it was a scarey ride home today

and i left early as soon as they closed down lougheed hwy. they closed/opened/ closed again, dewdney trunk rd  too…i snuck thru in the brief open window. i was flipping out, there is like 2 roads into mission and 60 needy animals at the end of my road home and they were busy closing both roads right around me….poor chris, i called her and dictated my will just in case (i am drawing up a new and improved one but am still fine tuning it) lol deb offered to come and get me and drive me home (apparently people don’t think too highly of my mini van’s ability to circumvent road closures) but i declined since she is one of the main suckers in the will and alot help it would be if she died right along with me.

anyway, i made it home safe and sound and with a handful of peanut butter cookies and a cup of hot tea, i am ready to tackle the barn. from the pathetic wailing coming from yonder field, the donkeys don’t much like the snow so i better move it and quickly too.

a couple of other simple truths

1.caffine works better at night than in the morning at causing “wide awake”

2. a foot of freshly fallen snow hides many hidden dangers to ones shoes.

3.as one ages, one should take one’s eye off the proverbial ball (ie cookie) and keep said eye on one’s own feet.

4 a six inch fall off his bed for a little guy like cedric is the same as a 3 and a half foot fall from someone’s bed like me, it’s all relative to one’s size (and i said i would give you some of the cookie, we are allowed here to eat cookies in bed!)

5. peanut butter cookies are a multi-species breakfast food item.

6. snow blowers are useless without gas.

can’t sleep

and i could blame deb and jean except i was not thinking about word usage. i made a couple of mistakes at bedtime…one i accidently drank reg. tea instead of de-caffinated and two, i let pops and panda in my bedroom and they both make me nervous in the dark cuz i can’t see their dripping faces until it is too late. i would like to go to sleep though because 6 am comes early if you go to bed too late.

the animals are all sleeping well tho…who’d have thought that michael and lexie, and norton could all fit on the floor of my room? maudie has the bed to herself right now except of a cat or two. sigh, maybe i will go and try again, i wish sleepiness was contagious.
