Take Me Home Tuesday Feature (Repeat): Return of the Mac

Filed under: Take Me Home Tuesdays — Jenn @ 9:53 pm

Sorry all, but this is a repeat Take Me Home Tuesday Feature of Mac.  Beginning on Tuesday April 26, 2011. I began doing a Take Me Home Tuesday Feature for all of our amazing adoptable animals to help match them up with wonderful forever homes. Being a senior and special needs animal rescue, SAINTS gets more admission than adoption requests. I wanted to showcase the wonderful and loving animals we have here–who really have so much more love and life left in them. So far this initiative has been a huge success, I leveraged it with the beginning of a new position–Adoption Coordinator.  Dawn a former SAINTS foster mom bravely took on this new role and has done an amazing job, matching saints animals with forever homes and helping to adopt out a record number of animals.  Of the 17 animals featured on the Take Me Home Tuesday–6 have been adopted into wonderful homes. I have recently been promoted at work and will be taking on a lot more in addition to a longer commute to work at a new office. With the others duties I do for saints such a photographs, volunteer coordinator and my role on the events committee I am going to need to scale back the feature animals initiative. Creating, editing and posting the video every week is a lot of work and time commitment. Therefore, I would like your feedback on this. I was thinking about scaling it back to once a month. Therefore “take me home tuesdays” is no longer an appropriate name. Do you have any suggestions for a snappy name for a once a month adoptable animal feature?

So ya, hence … the repeat this week folks but I choose Mac because he is just such a fantastic cat I cannot believe someone has not already snatched him up. I was just up there on Sunday snuggling with him. He is my favorite kind of cat: solid, fluffy, loves to have his head kissed and to be held.  He has also recently started venturing out of the dog free zone into the kitchen area. Therefore we know he is also good with dogs :)

Mac is 10 or 12 years old. He was abandoned living in the bush up north trying to survive on his own for a long time. When the pound found him he was so beaten up they did not think he was worth salvaging. Luckily a rescuer contacted SAINTS rescue and asked us to take him. He was flown down and has since recovered and is a great cat. He gets along great with the other animals and really loves people. He has no heath issues we are aware of and would be a great addition to any home.

to adopt Mac please email adopt@saintsrescue.ca

If you are unable to adopt one of our SAINTS’ animals how about sponsoring one or better yet joining the 1000 saints movement. With your support we can continue to help animals like Mac who have no where else to go receive medical care and have a good ending to their lives.

and of course you can always help by voting for S.A.I.N.T.S. Mission, BC Canada in the Petfinder’s Shelter Challenge (vote once a day).

Ewok & Smokey are brother and sister and they are 13 years old. They recently came to SAINTS rescue after their 90 year old owner went into a care facility. They are wonderful dogs–social, quiet, well behaved, and they get along really well with the other animals and people. They love to be pet and they love to go for walks and play. They are totally bonded, bestfriends with one another and are looking for a great retirement home together.

Cash is an 8 year old female declawed cat. She was a stray that was attacked by 2 dogs in a park and suffered some neck damaged that she has fully healed from. We named her Cash because her first vet bit cost a lot of it :) She has no health issues that we are aware of and is a friendly cat that loves belly rubs, loves to play, and loves to meow.

She is looking for a great home to love and appreciate her.

Here is a video all about her:

Please email adopt@saintsrescue.ca

Mini Me is a senior tea cup poodle cross who came to SAINTS rescue in need of a mammary tumor removal and dental. She is a yappy and bossy little thing. Her name suits her to a “T”…she is definitely mini and she is so all about “ME….ME….ME!” Her favorite game is “kill mystic” (big white puppy). She was a stray at a local shelter and she good with other animals in a bossy kind of way. Mini Me would make a great and fun addition to any home.

Take Me Home Tuesday: Stan the oh so gentleman

Filed under: Take Me Home Tuesdays — Jenn @ 6:47 am

Photobucket

Stanley is a young 2-3 year stray that was taken in by a vet clinic. But when he tested positive for FIV it made finding him a home difficult as most people misunderstand FIV. It is NOT like FeLV. FIV cats can live long full lives and if kept inside are at no risk of passing it on to any neighbourhood cats. In fact at saints they are in general population as our cats do not fight and you need a big fight with a deep bite wounds for even the chance of it being contracted by another cat. Stanley is a very friendly, sweet and calm. Not to mention handsome too.

Stanley is a true gentleman cat, he is a lover not a fighter. He gets along great with other cats and loves people.

Take Me Home Tuesday (take 2): Sweetie Luv by U?

Filed under: Take Me Home Tuesdays — Jenn @ 7:43 pm

Ok lets try this again …  the video is now fixed :) and actually I like the new song, Accapella Marvin Gay “How Sweet it is” better then the previous song  (“Sugar Pie Honey Bunch”)  I had for this video. So it was all for the better anyways :)  Enjoy!

Sweetie is a 8-10 year old JRT, recently spayed. She is a lovely dog that loves people and gets along great with cats and large dogs but has a serious hate on for small dogs. She is also scared of house cleaning. She is looking for a home that understands that JRTs are intelligent and sensitive dogs and will treasure and love her for all the rest of her days.

TO ADOPT Sweetie please email: adopt@saintsrescue.ca

Can’t adopt? you can also help by voting for S.A.I.N.T.S. Mission, BC Canada everyday in the new Petfinders shelter challenge that just started and is running until Sept 18.
