Animal Updates

with so much sadness...

Nicole  ·  May 22, 2009

I have to write that Carol's beloved Lexie passed away this morning after a few more seizures. Carol was out in Chilliwack picking up the newest SAINTS when the staff called to let her know Lexie had another seizure. Carol was able to make it home and take her into the vets for a peaceful goodbye. Carol will tell Lexie's story when she is ready.

Lexie 'I can walk on water' Hine:
I will never forget running in to that dirty disgusting pond after she thought she could still swim post-vestibular syndrome.

My very first photo of lexie, 3 years ago when i first started volunteering at SAINTS.

Carol, I'm so sorry. Even though I only know you and Lexi through your blog, your immense love for her comes singing through your words. What a beautiful, beautiful dog.

Heidi

Carol, I am so very sorry for your loss. May the memories the two of you made together last forever. Every animal that passes through SAINTS becomes a part of us and leaves a lasting impression. May Lexie's be felt always. God Bless SAINTS.

It was just last year's AGM when Nicole dove into the pond to save Lexi. Lexi seemed confused. Why all the fuss? Why wouldn't her friend Nicole want to swim in the pond too? Good bye dear dog.

To everyone who loved Lexi, what can I say, other than I am so sorry. Lexie was a beautiful girl and I am so happy that she knew the love, warmth, and safety of saints. She deserved so much and you folks were there to give it to her. Rest in peace good, good dog.

Carol...and all SAINTS volunteers,,,,I am so sorry as I know that this is an especially tough one. I remember meeting Lexi and her showing us at the old spot and her directing us to the pond there and what fun it was ...she knew from the outset that Carol was going to have to break down and make her one of her own...she adored Carol...she had a wonderful time at SAINTS and sharing you was fine with her. Take care all of you.

omg carol i am so so sorry. lexi has always been there since i started volunteering, she is so saints. i will miss her wobbly little walk and her great summer haircut and the way she would just lay patiently in the living room for some of the dog food that i was feeding the other guys. and she always got the most she was very quiet most of the time but had a huge presence about her. i will miss her very much i am so glad you adopted her and were her family. deepest sympathies and rest in peace lexi we all loved you.
