SAINTS Permanent Foster Oakley has passed away

Oakley was a beautiful 3 legged transfer from DCAS who was lucky enough to find herself in the loving care of barn volunteer Wade and his wife Diane.

Some words from Wade.

Hi all,

Last evening Oakley's typical heavy breathing became laboured. She started wheezing as she breathed. I hoped it was just the bad air quality but we loaded up and went to Emergency.

Oakley was in distress by the time we arrived. She was intubated immediately. I had to make the heart breaking decision to let her go.

We knew are time was coming to an end soon because of her physical condition but I wasn't prepared for saying goodbye like that.

There's a name for what happened but it escapes me right now but her larynx started collapsing.

As hard as it is today waking up without her beside the bed, we are grateful for the time we had with her. Thank you for letting her be part of our family.
