An oasis for elderly animals

Posted: June 28, 2012 at 10:29 am

Great 2 min video by Adrian MacNair featuring Maggie, champion of our 1000 Saints sponsorhip program and many of our special senior and special needs animals!

This video was part of the recent Mission City Record story An oasis for elderly animals

Posted: November 13, 2011 at 12:07 pm has been redone and now includes some really cool features:

  • a counter
  • more photos
  • connections to social media
  • a comments section
  • a supporter’s page

There are still some small changes being made, such as more photos being added, but I love the new look and I think you will too.  Maggie has done a fantastic job with this … and here is a message I would like to share from her.

Hi All – Check out our re-launched fund raising website and our quest to cover the monthly expenses at SAINTS.

The fact is it will take 50 ‘Saints’ donating for a year to cover one month of expenses at the sanctuary. It will take 600 monthly donors to cover the basic expenses over a year. When we reach 1000 that means the Board of Directors can feel financially secure to make necessary repairs to the present buildings, make plans for new purpose built buildings and comfortably be prepared for the many unforeseen emergencies which come up regularly when sheltering elderly and disabled animals.

We are working at finding those first 50 supporters to cover the first month, January. When we are successful we will be looking for the next 50 to cover February, and so on through the calendar year.

In order for this to work we need a couple of commitments from each of you. First, please sign up for the monthly donation and second spread the word through your circle of friends, relatives and colleagues.

Together we can make this happen.

SAINTS cash/coin donation boxes @ 9 BC Liquor stores

Good news, BC liquor stores had kindly allowed saints to have cash/coin donation boxes at 9 of their BC liquor stores: South side Aldergrove, Langley, Walnut Grove, Fort Langley, Abbotsford Village, Abbotsford, Mission, Maple Ridge & Pitt Meadows.

We thank them and Julie very much for setting this up again this year, I believe last year Pitt Meadows location raised the most and this year’s stanley cup series I think will help us raise even more.

1000 Saints

Posted: May 18, 2011 at 10:50 pm

maggie has been working hard along with kevin to create a new support system for saints. this will allow us to move forward into the future, eventually past me and ensure that homeless senior and special needs animals will continue to have a dedicated and secure safety net to protect them. they have named this program, “1000 SAINTS” and the purpose is to build a base of 1000 people who are dedicated to caring for senior and special needs animals and providing them with the care that not only do they deserve, but that they have earned by their life long service and their own dedication to man.
this program is different from our animal sponsorship program..this is not about one individual animal..this is about all of the senior and special needs animals who need help…this is about supporting and assisting saints as a whole to not only survive but to be able to grow.

maggie has asked that we help this program go viral…by sending it off to everyone we know and asking them to pass it on to people that they know. finding 1000 people to band together and commit to helping and supporting saints growth, is not going to be easy and we need your help.
have a look at the attached PDF and the website and think about the possibilities that realization of this dream can bring…not just a bigger and better sanctuary for senior and special needs animals but the ability to reach out into communities to affect positive change in so many more education, prevention, health care assistence, palliative care support too.

dreams are only dreams until we make them come alive.

thank you maggie and kevin for taking the lead in making a dream come true!
