Jenn  ·  Jun. 22, 2011

This Friday (June 24th) Nicole is going to be (wo)manning a SAINTS table at theProspera Credit Union Mission Branch (101-32423 Lougheed Hwy--beside Cedatr Care Clinc) for their 9thAnnual Member Appreciation BBQ 11am to 3:30pm. They kindly invited us and 3 other charities to attend their event with an info table and benefit the profits from their BBQ sales. Nicole will be working hard to promote the SAINTS Open House so pop by, buy a dog ... ahhum I mean hot dog and day hi... speaking of which ...

Its almost here! The annual SAINTS Open House is the weekend June 25 and 26 11am to 3 there will be public tours of this amazing multi-species animal sanctuary. We will have an info table and some snacks too. Come bring your friends and family. Come meet the saints animals and volunteers. Hope to see you there!

We have had a number of newbies over the last 2 weeks:

Meet Stanley a young 2 year stray that was taken in by a vet clinic. But when he tested positive for FIV it made finding him a home difficult as most people misunderstand FIV. It is NOT like FeLV. FIV cats can live long full lives and if kept inside are at no risk of passing it on to any neighbourhood cats. In fact at saints they are in general population as our cats do not fight and you need a big fight with a deep bite wounds for even the chance of it being contracted by another cat. Stanley is a very friendly, sweet and calm. Not to mention handsome too!

Jedi and Yoda are 2 senior shih tzus who lost their long time when when their dad went into the hospital.

Jedi is 13 years old here is getting gushed over by Erin while I say in a sing song voice, "look at the bug eyes, yes you. Who has bug eyes. You do."

Yoda is 15 years old and as I take this (and this why erin is laughing) I am calling this one "fatty" and "tubby: in a very loving voice so he thinks I am saying nice things to him because I remember his name. And in my head I am thinks, geez SAINTS is like a fat camp what is he gonna look like 3 months from now! haha

Here is Cocoa, a 4 year cat that is incontinent. His medical history and issues are quite complex. Carol wrote about them previously in her Bladder Cat post. Cocao is a very sweet manner cat that loves pets and kisses.

This is Missy, you never met her because she was in foster care but she came to saints this week to meet her new family who came by to take her to her new home on Sunday! yay love happy endings.

Here is Trevor. He is a former saint and just back for some r&r. He ruptured a disc which really truly sucks for a three-legged dog. He has a great home but its difficult for his mom to get him in and out of her apartment when he can't walk right now. He really, really likes balls.

Hi, I just found this blog from the SAINTS site. I gave for the first time at Christmas and am looking forward to going out to the open house tomorrow. I love what SAINTS is doing and am going to sponsor one of your cats.

Carol. I'm going to bring Belle to play with Mystic tomorrow since I figure there will be enough happening on Sunday Belle doesn't need to come too! I'm excited to be back tomorrow... A month is TOO long away from S.A.I.N.T.S.!
